Daily Gratitude & Promise

"And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more." (Doctrine and Covenants 78:19)

Thank you for the beautiful sunshine. Thank you that I live so close to the river--it is so beautiful, and it brings me such peace, joy and happiness just to look at it. Thank you for Susan--her friendship and the motivation to get up and get going. Thank you for the perfect weather. Thank you for so much abundance that I have in my life--an abundance of love, food, shelter, peace, and security. Thank you for this incredible, amazing, large, and beautiful home. Thank you for inspiration to keep it that way! Thank you for my wonderful, fantastic, delightful children. Thank you that John is feeling better and back to normal. Thank you for Aisza and Linea--their inspiration, encouragement, and leadership. Thank you for our affirmation and accountability call--thank you for all of the amazing, wonderful, seemingly miraculous events that brought us together. Thank you for my new book! Thank you for Joe. Thank you for the precious gift of living life on this planet, and thank you for every single person who has had a hand in helping me notice, appreciate, and enjoy it. Thank you for all of the wonderful, amazing things that are coming into my life as a result of my personal development and affirmations (more like this please!).

My Promise

It has been an interesting several weeks. EVERY time that I have made a promise to myself I have broken it--even the last one, which I thought was so easy. I wonder why this is? Well, I have learned not to focus on the why of the problem but rather to focus on fixing the problem. This may not work when fixing a washing machine (oh, btw, thank you for my wonderful, incredible, smart, handy husband and the fixed washing machine!), but it is definitely true to for fixing a life.
For the last several weeks I have been participating in a great affirmation experiment. I'll have to write more about it later, but those of us who are doing it are witnessing remarkable changes and experiencing great results.
A good deal of our success is due to the fact that we are accountable to each other every single day. How, we wondered, could we be accountable to each other for more than just our affirmations?
I suggested that we make a deal that in order to be eligible to participate in our affirmation call (which we love), we must first do the thing that we are challenged by (for some it is finding time for visualization, for some it is writing in our journal, etc.)
Everyone thought it was a great idea.
So here is my new promise: I will do at least 30 minutes of personal development between each affirmation call. If I don't, I will not participate.
I can tell already the difference this promise is making in my life. Woo hoo! :o)

Daily Gratitude & This Week's Promise

"And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more." (Doctrine and Covenants 78:19)

Thank you so much for this new laptop. Thank you for getting up early (more like this, please!). Thank you for Alison. Thank you for my wonderful, beautiful home. I always dreamed of having one--thank you so much for making my dream come true! Thank you for the Petersons. Thank you for my vision and determination. Thank you for all the leaders and all the examples they have set. Thank you for the knowledge that it is possible! It is real! It will be mine! Thank you for Family Home Evening. Thank you for the love and happiness we have in our family. Thank you for the sunshine and the warm weather. Thank you for swimming pools! Thank you for freedom and relaxation. Thank you for the schedule. Thank you for life!!!!

This Week's Promise

Well, third time is a charm, right? I was shocked at how difficult it was to keep my first two promises. I didn't realize I had a problem with that! Beyond Freedom specifically says to start with a promise that is easy to keep--just so you can prove to yourself that you can keep it. So this time I am going to make a promise that I really will do:
I will write my gratitudes every day.
