Daily Gratitude

Thank you thank you thank you for HARO (and Stephen, of course!).  Thank you for the brick wall, the decision, and taking the leap.  Thank you for every moment of my life.  Thank you for Lyn (and Dan, of course!) and for the last 8 years.  Thank you for Gary and Anne Marie (and Amy, of course!).  Thank you for LTA.  Thank you for Linea and Aisza.  Thank you for this time this morning.  Thank you for another opportunity to choose joy!  Thank you for the Fairfax County website.  Thank you for technology in general!  Thank you that I get to live in this place at this moment.  Thank you for all the wonderful possibilities.  Thank you for the triathlon.  Thank you for the inspiration, the motivation, and the completion.  Thank you for all my wonderful help and resources.  Thank you for dreams coming true.  Thank you for learning to welcome and accept them!  Thank you for my life that is to be--that I am creating right now.  Thank  you thank you thank you!  :o)

Well, it took me longer than I thought it would, but here, finally is the completed video from Hawaii.  Woo hoo!  :o)

Staying at Home with My Kids

Today I took my kids to the pool. It's not such an unusual thing, I guess. After all, we just spent the last week in Hawaii, where there was a pool in our backyard and the ocean a few feet beyond it. Even here at home we got a summer pass to Pirate's Cove.

But today was a little different because I was doing my swim training for the triathlon (now less than 4 weeks away!), and because my husband is out of town, I had to take them with me--I didn't get to play with them like I usually do.

So I left them in the kids area (sooo grateful that they are old enough for me to do that now!) while I went and did my laps. After my laps, sat on the side of the pool and just watched them play. They were having so much fun!

My heart swelled up as it struck me how very grateful I am that I made the decision to stay home with them. How many parents miss moments like these because they are working and have to put the kids in camp or hire a nanny for the summer?

Many people build businesses from home so that they can stay home with their kids. I have done the opposite. I made the decision to stay home first. Now I'm building my business so that I can have the lifestyle of working but the life of staying at home.

What a beautiful thing.
