This is such a powerful lesson. Unlike most others, it doesn't have an exercise with it and is more like a lecture, but it is so powerful.
It wasn't until I started working on personal development that I understood the power of the subconscious mind. Sure, I understood that it is what drives you. Sure, I understood that it controls all those things you don't have to think about--like breathing and digestion. What I didn't understand is that you can control it.
I mean, I always thought it just was. I thought that whatever was there was there and that you just had to deal with it.
But no. Oh no!
As the lesson says, the subconscious is the soil and you get to decide what is planted there. And anything you don't like, you can just rip out like a weed.
All this recently came home to me when I started my affirmation group. We started it after reading Joseph Murphy's The Power of the Subconscious Mind. My friend and I were doing a book group and she said, "Margie, we're reading all this stuff and we're not applying it." So we decided to "experiment" with Joseph Murphy's suggestion, and we discovered to our delight that our lives were absolutely transformed.
I have now come to the conclusion that anything you want in life--anything--can come about simply by writing it down and repeating it out loud over and over. All you have to do is get past the conscious "gate"--that part of you that says "no, I can't"--and plant the seed in your subconscious mind. Once it's firmly planted there, heaven and earth move to make it happen.
